Lexus stopped manufacturing its ES 300 in 2003, but the model is still No. 1 in 2016 when it comes to traffic tickets.

A recent study by Insurance.com identified the Lexus ES 300 as the vehicle driven by the largest percentage of recently ticketed drivers. At the other end of this spectrum, drivers of the Buick Encore are least likely to get a ticket.

For its study, Insurance.com reviewed insurance claim and traffic violation data on 331 models and about 323,000 drivers who were surveyed between Jan. 1, 2014, and Feb. 1, 2016. The vehicle rankings were calculated on models for which more than 250 quotes had been sought.

Penny Gusner, consumer analyst for Insurance.com, notes:

“It’s the driver that gets tickets, not the car. But it is interesting to see what vehicle makes and models attract drivers who are prone to traffic violations.”
