The best way to sell you old gold is to go shop a few of your local jewelers. go to at least 2 and take the highest price. read the reviews on the jewelers, then sell your gold.

I have tried several gold buyers and found the best deal was at the local gold buyers in town (I’m in Tampa) which I assume is probably the case in any town.

Just because jewelry is appraised at a certain value does not mean that is the amount a person would get if they sold it, ie, you could have a necklace appraised at $1200, but if you tried to sell it, youd only get the value of the gold, not the craftsmanship. Moreover, much of gold jewelry is not pure (24 K)its usually 10-14k which is why they buy scrap at such low prices. 1oz of pure gold is $860 (today), 10K isnt even half pure. Youd probably get about $175 for 1oz. of 10k gold.

I have heard about all 3 of these sites that you mentioned, but some good, some bad. But, selling gold online is the way to go. I had 4 necklaces and brought them into a local pawn shop and they offered me next to nothin. After doing a ton of research, I finally sent in my gold on a site GoldPawnShop.com and everything was great. I got 3 times more then the local pawn shop offered me. These days, everyone could use some extra cash. Look around and take my advice for what it is worth. susan
