There’s no special rhyme or reason for this week’s deals – except they all represent at least 40-percent discounts. Start off March with these savings on tech, food, and other category-defying bargains.
First, in freebies: Chick-Fil-A’s Facebook says it’ll give away free waffle fries on FryDay afternoon – get it? Well, you can’t expect clever puns from cows that can’t spell “chicken.”
Another Facebook-related food promo: Get a buy-one-entree-get-one-free coupon from Chipotle for sitting through (or pressing play and then ignoring) a 90-second video. The coupon’s good for a week from when you print it, but the promotion is only available this week.
Want to start saving on your electric bill this month? Invest in a Kill A Watt, a device that tracks your electrical usage and gives you an idea of what you should be unplugging. Stacy’s recommended it before, and a decent model of the Kill A Watt is half off at Amazon right now for $42.
There’s some interesting tech on sale this week: You can get a 12-megapixel underwater camera with 5x zoom at Buy.com for $59, which is 40 percent off.
Then there’s this $16 stainless steel-threaded wallet sold by WeGotBetterDeals via eBay. Why would you want such a thing, and how is it high-tech? Because it protects against RF scanners, which can be used by identity thieves to suck your credit card info out of the air. Elsewhere, a stainless steel wallet can cost about $90.
Amazon.com has some decent electronics discounts this week too: MP3 players are anywhere from 10-75 percent off, depending on the model. Apple fans might be a bit disappointed: The iPods are less than 10 percent off. But Amazon does have iPhone cases up to 75 percent off, along with a few other accessories.
Lastly, Amazon has Post-it sticky pads and mailing labels for 50 percent off.
