1. ‘Prince William bachelor party photos!’ = Spam

It’s not surprising, but it’s still amusing: Spammers used Friday’s royal wedding to generate clicks on their unrelated links. Here’s what CNN reported: 22 of the first 100 searches on Google for “royal wedding gown sketches” were poisoned links, another term for spam. And 10 of the first 100 searches for “royal wedding ceremony details” were equally poisoned.

2. Kentucky family to sell massive Coca-Cola collection

Here’s one way to become rich: Collect 80,000 items bearing the Coca-Cola trademark and then auction them off. That’s what one Kentucky family will do in September – and the Coca-Cola company is expected to be one of the bidders for items ranging from a 1890s poster to an early vending machine that sold bottles for six cents apiece. Estimated value of the entire collection: $10 million.

3. 11 weirdest ways to cash in reward points

The freebies you can score with credit card points are getting downright strange. Like getting married by Elvis (16,828 points), experiencing weightlessness in the plane known as the Vomit Comet (702,600 points), and hiking up an active volcano (67,000 points).

4. NYC friends reach LA after $5,000 cab fare, 6 days

If you ever wondered how much a cab ride across the country costs, the answer is $5,000. But a man from New York and another from New Jersey defrayed the cost of their trip to California by stopping in Vegas – where they won more than $2,000 gambling.

5. Misaddressed marijuana goes to elderly couple

One drug dealer must have been smoking too much of his own product: He mailed a 5-pound brick of marijuana to an elderly couple in Pennsylvania. The couple turned it in to police – giving up $10,000 worth of drugs.
