Today's Deals: Books, Decor, and a Free Smoothie

I subscribe to the promotional emails of hundreds of companies so you don’t have to. I sift through 1,000 deal-touting emails every week. Most are worthless. But some offer valuable coupons, promo codes, sales, and freebies – which I collect and organize here and on our deals page.

Note: Expiration dates are in brackets.

For more holiday deals – and totally free Starbucks coffee – be sure to check out Monday’s deals too.

Books and office supplies

  • Barnes & Noble: 15 percent off one item in stores (print first) [7/4].
  • Staples: Additional 15 percent off everything you can fit in their reusable bag [7/4]. These types of deals that offer a piddly percent off everything you can fit in some sort of bag are usually not as good as they sound. But this one allows you to toss clearance-priced items in the bag, so you stand to save a lot – if you can resist the urge to fill your bag with full-priced items.

Technology

  • 64GB thumb drives (Lexar): 18 percent off at Buy.com [expiration unknown]. Instead of $60, it’s $49 – and shipping is free.
  • SanDisk: Up to 65 percent off memory cards, flash drives, MP3 players, and more during the Independence Day Sale online [7/12].
