Veterans Day Meal Deals and Freebies
Veterans and active-duty military members can practically eat free all Veterans Day Weekend long, and there are a few deals to be had for civilians too.
I subscribe to the promotional emails of hundreds of companies so you don’t have to. I sift through 1,000 deal-touting emails every week. Most are worthless. But some offer valuable coupons, promo codes, sales, and freebies – which I collect and organize here and on our deals page.
Note: Expiration dates are in brackets.
For everyone
- National parks: Free admission [11/10 - 11/12 only].
- Saks Fifth Avenue’s Off 5th: 25 to 50 percent off clothing and shoes for the whole family plus handbags, jewelry, and other accessories during the Veterans Day Sale in stores [11/7 - 11/13]. Off 5th is Saks Fifth Avenue’s discount chain. Unlike their competitor, Neiman Marcus’ Last Call, Off 5th doesn’t sell online, but it’s still a good place to find designer garb at deep discounts if they have locations near you.
For military families or friends
- Outback Steakhouse: 10 percent off your entire check [11/13 - 12/31].
For veterans and active-duty military personnel
Note that most of these offers require a military ID or other proof of service.
- Applebee’s: Free entree from a special menu [11/11 only].
- Bakers Square Restaurant & Pies: Free slice of pie [11/11 only].
- California Pizza Kitchen: Free pizza and nonalcoholic drink when you dine in [11/11 - 11/12 only]. You get to pick any pizza on the menu, which is a great deal.
- Carrows Restaurant: Free slice of pie with any purchase [11/11 only].
- Champps Americana Restaurant: Free cheeseburger and fries [11/12 only].
- Coco’s Bakery Restaurant: Free slice of pie with any purchase [11/11 only].
- Einstein Bros. Bagels: Free classic or signature bagel [11/11 only].
- Famous Dave’s BBQ: Deals vary by location [11/11 only].
- Friendly’s: Free breakfast and coffee when you dine in during breakfast hours [11/12 only].
- Golden Corral: Free dinner between 4 and 9 p.m. [11/12 only].
- Hooters: 10 free boneless wings with the purchase of a drink [11/11 only].
- Hoss’s Steak and Sea House: Free meal and drink from a special menu [11/12 only].
- LongHorn Steakhouse: Free Texas Tonion appetizer and nonalcoholic drink [11/11 only]. There’s no link to this deal at this time, but I was informed about it directly by a spokesperson from Darden Restaurants, which owns LongHorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden, and Red Lobster.
- Olive Garden: Free entree from a special list of five [11/11 only].
- On The Border: Free entree coupon worth up to $10 [11/11 only]. The coupon is valid Nov. 12 through 30.
- Outback Steakhouse: Free Bloomin’ Onion appetizer and nonalcoholic drink [11/11 - 11/12 only].
- Red Lobster: Free appetizer from a special list of 10 [11/11 only]. There’s no link to this deal, but I was informed about it directly by Darden Restaurants.
- Sizzler: Free lunch until 4 p.m. [11/12 only].
- Twin Peaks Restaurants: Free meal up to a $10 value when you dine in [11/11 only].
- Uno Chicago Grill: Free entree or individual-size pizza with the purchase of one entree or pizza [11/11 - 11/12 only].
