The Christian Science Monitor says the words socialism and capitalism were most commonly searched for this year, almost double from last year…
“They’re words that sort of encapsulate the zeitgeist. They’re words that are in the national conversation,” said [Merriam-Webster editor] PeterSokolowski from company headquarters in Springfield, Mass. ”The thing about an election year is it generates a huge amount of very specific interest.”
Other words highlighted by politics include democracy, globalization, marriage, bigot – and yes – Joe Biden’s “malarkey.”
