Credit Scores Affect Love Life?
They dictate your interest rates and credit availability, and they can affect your dating pool too.
The New York Times reports on the trend, starting with a woman who was shocked when her date asked her credit score…
“It was as if the music stopped,” Ms. [Jessica] LaShawn, 31, said, recalling how the date this year went so wrong so quickly after she tried to answer his question honestly. “It was really awkward because he kept telling me that I was the perfect girl for him, but that a low credit score was his deal-breaker.”
The story admits it’s hard to quantify the trend, but found several other examples, including a woman whose boyfriend refused to marry her until she paid down $150,000 in student loan debt. (He declined to be interviewed.)
