A clever printing technique allows advertisers to create optical illusions — or different messages for kids and adults on the same image.
A group that helps abused children has printed a special poster that provides a secret message to kids, PetaPixel says. Children up to a certain height can see the message as they walk by; adults walking with them cannot.
The new ad campaign by ANAR Foundation, a Spanish nonprofit, makes use of lenticular printing technology.
Here’s how PetaPixel describles the group’s new ad:
Using the process, ANAR produced an outdoor poster that, when viewed from a normal adult height, reads, “Sometimes, child abuse is only visible to the child suffering it.” But when the poster is viewed from the average height of a 10-year-old, the boy in the picture becomes bruised and the message “if somebody hurts you, phone us and we’ll help you” appears, alongside the foundation’s help line number.
You can see the ad in action on YouTube. It’s designed so that troubled children might gain access to help without their abusers catching on, even if they walk past the ad together.
