The country’s first weedery could open by the fall, Yahoo Finance reports.

The destination is the vision of Christian Hageseth, author of the book “Big Weed: An Entrepreneur’s High-Stakes Adventures in the Budding Legal Marijuana Business” and founder of the marijuana brand Green Man Cannabis, which has two locations in Denver.

The weedery will also be located in Colorado, the first U.S. state to legalize marijuana. It’s called Green Man Cannabis Ranch & Amphitheater, and Hageseth has been working on it for more than a year.

The ranch’s website describes the weedery as follows:

Like a brewery or a winery, but for legal marijuana, the weedery will give the public the unique opportunity to tour an award-winning state of the art marijuana grow facility, listen to live music at the outdoor amphitheater, and enjoy a meal at the on-site bar and restaurant — all while enjoying sweeping views of the Colorado Rockies.

The amphitheater will have 2,500 seats and the ranch will also feature a dispensary and gift shop.

Hageseth got into the marijuana business about six years ago, after Colorado legalized medicinal marijuana but before it legalized recreational marijuana.

He tells Yahoo:

In 2009, marijuana was a bit of a Wild West. Now marijuana is coming out of the shadows and the basements and becoming a legitimate industry.

Hageseth has already bought 15 acres of land near Denver International Airport and started securing financing for the weedery, Yahoo reports.

In February, Green Man Cannabis launched an Indiegogo campaign to support development by documenting the construction process from start to finish. It raised $4,035, just short of its $4,500 goal.

While the ranch’s website states that Colorado has led the way in bringing marijuana cultivation out of the shadows, it’s been a slow process.

“The Cannabis Ranch is my chance to normalize marijuana, to bring it to the world on such a scale that it cannot be ignored,” Hageseth writes.
