Recommend check your contract and see what it says as to number of hours for a salaried worker and what that means. When I was rank and file and represented by a bargaining unit (Union) OT is defined as what is over 40 hour work week (used to be what is over an 8 hour work day) excluding sick leave. Now I am in an excluded position (excluded from bargaining) not rank and file where OT is not compensated, you are paid for a full day even if not in the office for a full day. Try not to get into OT and if do, makeup for it by reducing hours on another day. If not like the arrangement, go back to rank and file. There are, however, other advantages and a higher salary.
