I want a card with 0% APR. My present bank is offering me one with a 12 month 0% APR. I have a credit limit of $15,000. I am considering ChaseSlate or CitiSimplicity. I owe $3,100 on my present card. Can I lower my present payment of $72.00 a month on the new card, and will my credit limit be lowered. I have excellent credit, but I am retired and my only income is Social Security. I am going to need car repairs very soon, and it may cost me around $2000.00. Please advise right away.

The payment on your new card will depend on the bank’s minimum and interest rate, but assuming you qualify for a zero percent intro rate on the new card, your payment should be comparable.
