My family’s home, auto, etc. insurance situation is too complicated for any of the automated search services to be of much use. Lord knows I have tried. I am also unimpressed with the range of choices presented by agents affiliated with one company, such as all State. I have also tried that approach, to my dissatisfaction. What might work better is an independent an axe to grind for any particular insurance carrier. How can I locate someone like that? (I live in the East Bay of San Francisco, in Contra Costa County).
Any assistance that you can provide will be greatly appreciated!

What you want is an independent insurance broker. Do a Google search for “Insurance brokers Contra Costa County”. I just did: you’ll find lots of agencies. Call at least three and discuss your needs before settling on one.
