How can deal-seekers tell it's Earth Day? Starbucks is giving away free coffee and tea in reusable contains, the Disney Store is giving away free reusable Mickey bags, and Lowe's is handing out free trees. Not to mention tons of deals on food and fashion.

Happy Earth Day! Have you thanked Mother Nature yet? Even if you don’t care about being green, she’s made saving green a breeze.  In fact, we have so many deals and freebies that we had to break them up into categories…

Earth Day freebies

Today’s a great day to hit the mall – a trio of worthwhile freebies awaits. Start off at Starbucks: Participating stores will pour you a free Starbucks coffee or tea if you bring in your own tumbler (or just ask to use one of their “for-here” cups) [valid Friday, April 22 only].

Once the caffeine kicks in, hurry to the Disney store, where they’re handing out a free – and adorable – reusable Mickey Mouse shopping bag, while supplies last, to every guest who brings in five plastic shopping bags for recycling [valid Friday, April 22 only]. You may want to bring the kids along too, because they’re also doing free in-store scavenger hunts to help guests learn how to save the planet.

And don’t pass by Origins. They’re handing out a free full-size limited-edition Origins cleanser, while supplies last, to every guest who trades in a bottle of their current cleanser – full or empty – and brings in a form from their website [valid Friday, April 22 only]. If your current bottle of cleanser isn’t quite empty yet, we suggest pouring it into another container at your house before trading the bottle in – waste not, want not!

If celebrating Earth Day by actually being green is more your style, stop by Lowe’s the next day for a free tree [valid Saturday, April 23 only]. They’re handing out a million of them.

Food coupons and codes

If you’re eating out this weekend, you can save $1 off an A&W Restaurants original bacon double combo meal [expires Saturday, April 23], or savor a free Smokey Bones entree with the purchase of another [expires Sunday, April 24].

If you don’t live near either of those restaurants, find a local eatery on Restaurant.com and buy a certificate: They’re 80 percent off right now, which means you can purchase a $25 Restaurant.com gift certificate for $2. Just apply code EASTER at checkout [expires Sunday, April 24]. If you’ve never used their website, we can attest that it’s quick and easy – and instantaneous, because you’ll be able to print the certificate out as soon as you’ve bought it.

If you’re eating in – and don’t forget that Sunday is Easter – take up to $5 off select HoneyBaked Hams. If you’re having family over for Easter but don’t have time to cook, call Maggiano’s Little Italy. They’re delivering Easter packages that serve 8 and 16 people. You have to spend at least $125 plus a delivery charge, but that’ll feed at least 8 – and they’ll take $25 off your Maggiano’s delivery order if you use code 79 [expires Monday, May 30]. Just be sure to place your order the day before.

Clothing and shoes coupons and codes

If you didn’t find any shoes you liked in the DSW.com clearance section that we mentioned on Wednesday, fear not.

Take 15 percent off FamousFootwear.com orders (free shipping too!) when you use code SPRING11. If you’d rather shop in-store, just click the gray “print coupon” button on their site, print the coupon that pops up, and take it with you to take 15 percent off in Famous Footwear stores. [Both expire Saturday, April 23].

If that’s not enough savings for you, take 20 percent off Payless.com orders when you use code 44384. (Shipping is $5.95, but you can save the expense by having your order delivered to your local store free.) Again, if you prefer to try shoes on before buying, just print the coupon to take 20 percent off in Payless ShoeSource stores. [Both expire Sunday, April 24.]

In the clothing department, ladies can take $20 off a Coldwater Creek purchase of any amount – that’s like them handing you $20 – but the deal is only valid in stores [expires Saturday, April 23]. Alternatively, “like” Lane Bryant on Facebook to receive a 30-percent-off Lane Bryant coupon [expires Sunday, April 24].

Both guys and gals take 20 percent off at American Eagle: Print the coupon to shop in-store, or enter code 31289081 when you checkout online [expires Sunday, April 24]. Lastly, get free shipping on any JCrew.com purchase with code WARMUP [expires Sunday, April 24].
