Discounted gift cards are among the best ways to save more money — even on items that are already on sale. Today is among the best days of the year to buy them.

Raise.com is offering a rare promotion for Cyber Monday: An additional $10 off a discounted gift card order of $100 or more.

This offer ends today at 11:59 p.m. CT.

About discounted gift card marketplaces

Raise.com is marketplace for discounted gift cards. In other words, it’s a website where you can sell unwanted gift cards or buy unwanted gift cards at a discount.

Another reputable example of this type of site is Cardpool.com.

Both Raise and Cardpool guarantee all the gift cards they sell for 100 days from the date of purchase. So if there is an issue with a card you buy from either site, you get your money back within that time frame.

Both sites also ship all gift cards for free, so you’ll never pay extra for shipping.

Basically, if you’ve never used a discounted gift card marketplace, there’s no reason not to try a reputable one like Raise or Cardpool.

How to use Raise.com

I’ve used Raise.com more than any other discounted gift card marketplace and find it especially user-friendly.

If you’ve never used the site, the first step is to sign up for an account by clicking on “SIGN UP” near the upper right corner. This takes a few seconds and is free.

Once you’re signed up, you’re set to browse and buy gifts cards from hundreds of retailers, restaurants and other merchants.

Just note that some cards are valid only in stores or only online. Raise.com labels cards with these terms to differentiate:

  • Physical cards are traditional plastic gift cards. They are shipped to you via the U.S. Postal Service and can be redeemed only in stores.
  • E-gift cards are digital cards that can be redeemed only online. They are delivered electronically. That means the information needed to redeem e-gift cards is stored in your Raise account, where you can access it whenever you want to redeem the cards.
  • Vouchers are an alternative to physical gift cards and can be redeemed only in stores. They are delivered electronically.

Some cards for sale on Raise.com are labeled as both e-gift cards and vouchers. That means they will be delivered electronically and can be used both online and in stores.

To take advantage of Raise’s Cyber Monday offer of an extra $10 off a $100 purchase, enter promo code CMRAISE at checkout. When you get to the “Secure Checkout” page, click on the words “Use a promo code.”
