Deals continue to dry up as we approach Black Friday, when they'll burst like a dam. For now, we've spotted some savings on winter and formal wear, batteries, and other stuff.

With less than a month to go until Black Friday, good deals are scarce — but leftover Halloween candy isn’t the only thing on sale. We found savings for this week on clothing, lamps and batteries, among other things.

Free comes first, so check out this deal for a free sub at Quiznos when you purchase a regular drink and chips. Sign up for their newsletter and you’ll score a free cookie, too. The coupon expires Nov. 7.

There’s another freebie over at Victoria’s Secret. Use code LIPGIFT10 at checkout to get a free lip gloss kit when you order any sweater — and some are on sale as cheap as $12, like this turtleneck sweater, or this V-neck sweater is $19.

Timberland is known for its shoes, but they’ve got all kinds of stuff and you can save 20% on almost everything with coupon code JOY10. You also get free shipping on orders over $100. The coupon’s good through Nov. 8.

If you’re looking for formal wear instead of winter clothes, you can take 40% off regular priced items at Men’s Wearhouse using code THANKSNPF10. That doesn’t work with clearance items or shoes, though.

You can never have enough batteries, especially around the holidays. If you don’t use rechargeables, now’s a good time to stock up because Amazon has Duracell brand AA and AAA batteries on sale. You can get 20 of either for under $10, and if you sign up for “subscribe and save” in the sidebar, you’ll save another 15%. You can unsubscribe at any time, but make sure you don’t forget, unless you want to be regularly mailed — and billed for — more batteries.

Also on Amazon is a potential Christmas gift, if you know any baseball fans with laptops. For $15 each, they’ve got laptop sleeves with MLB team logos for 11 teams, including the Yankees, Rangers, Phillies, and Cubs.

Did you take a lot of Halloween photos? Walgreens is offering 50% off on photo books through Nov. 6. You’ll need coupon code FONDMEMORY. You can also get 50% off 4×6, 5×7 and 8×10 prints with coupon code TREAT and a third off calendars with UYEAR.

If you plan on making Thanksgiving decorations or like any kind of arts & crafts stuff, there’s a coupon for 40% off any item at Michaels which is good through Nov. 6. There are several exclusions, though, so check the fine print.

If you’re looking for a new ceiling fan or lamp, Home Depot has many on clearance for up to 70% savings.

At you can pick up two stainless steel water bottles for less than $10, which is about what you’d pay for just one anywhere else. There’s an automatic discount in place that ends on Nov. 2, after which the price will go up a few bucks, but it’s still a good deal.

That’s all for this week — check back next time for more savings, and feel free to share your own deals in the comments.
