Will Monopoly’s iconic silver thimble piece be replaced by a smiling gold emoji token? Have the Scottie dog and the old boot made their last run around the Monopoly board — swapped out for a flip-flop and a dinosaur?

Not yet. But it is a possibility.

Toymaker Hasbro is asking you to vote for your favorite eight Monopoly tokens from a field of 64 options — including its original game pieces — in what’s been dubbed the “Monopoly Token Madness Vote.” Hasbro is accepting votes through Jan. 31.

Monopoly has been enjoyed by hordes of board game lovers since it first hit the scene in 1933 during the Great Depression. It’s changed out game pieces in the past, although the boot, top hat, thimble and Scottie dog tokens have remained constant.

Monopoly last held a contest in 2013 to update one of its original pieces. Voters determined that Monopoly’s old iron token should be swapped with a cat named Hazel, NBC News reports.

Now voters get to decide whether they want the game pieces to stay the same or if they want to replace them with more up-to-date objects and symbols, like a hashtag, money clip, computer or scooter.

The new Monopoly game is expected to hit store shelves this fall, says Time.
