Thinking of joining Amazon Prime? Don’t delay another day! Shoppers signing up for the service will get a rare deal on Friday.

For 24 hours only, you can get Amazon Prime for $79, a 20 percent savings on the standard $99 membership fee. New Prime members can sign up for the discounted membership on Friday from midnight EST until 11:59 p.m. PST.

Amazon is running the promotion in tandem with the Friday premiere of “The Grand Tour,” a new series available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.

Prime is Amazon’s subscription service. It includes benefits such as:

  • Free two-day shipping with no required minimum purchase
  • Free video streaming, including movies and TV series
  • Free unlimited music streaming
  • Free unlimited photo storage
  • Free access to more than 800,000 e-books
  • Up to 50 percent off Android phones

New benefits pop up from time to time on Prime. In September, Prime added unlimited free access to a new short-form digital audio service from Audible Inc.

After joining Prime, you’ll probably do a lot more shopping at Amazon. Find out how to cut the cost of your purchases by reading “7 Ways to Score Free Amazon Cards.”
