A Canadian hamburger is making headlines across America.
Called “Reese PBC,” it’s stuffed with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and topped with crispy onion strings, smoked bacon and more Reese’s.
The burger is available until Jan. 10 at The Works Gourmet Burger Bistro chain, where it’s part of the special “Get Stuff’d” menu (along with the chorizo sausage-stuffed Burgeroni and the cheese-stuffed Loaded Lucy).
As unappetizing as peanut butter wrapped in chocolate wrapped in ground beef might sound, Bruce Miller, one of three co-owners of The Works, tells USA Today that the new burgers were taste-tested with focus groups. Now they’re a hit with customers:
“Our guests have been voting with their mouths already, making these three burgers our top sellers.”
The three new burgers each cost 15.98 Canadian dollars. That’s equivalent to $12.13 U.S., according to the Bank of Canada.
The Works has 26 locations across Ontario but could be crossing into the U.S. soon, Miller tells USA Today, based on high interest from potential franchisees at a recent trade show.
