Now is the time to buy anything you need — or simply want — from any of the few dozen retailers currently offering triple cash back through Ebates.com.
This triple cash back promotion lasts only three days: today through Thursday, March 1. And triple cash back seldom comes around — about twice a year, based on what I’ve seen as a longtime Ebates user myself.
The retailers and other merchants where you can currently earn triple cash back — which amounts to as much as 22.5 percent cash back — include:
- Clarisonic: 12 percent
- eBags: 15 percent
- GNC: 15 percent
- Hanes: 12 percent
- Holiday Inn Express: 13.5 percent
- IT Cosmetics: 12 percent
- JCPenney: 10 percent
- Jos. A. Bank Clothiers: 12 percent
- L.L. Bean: 6 percent
- Medifast: 22.5 percent
- Sunglass Hut: 15 percent
- Under Armour: 9 percent
- Vitacost.com: 9 percent
To view the full list, visit Ebates’ home page and click on “See All Stores,” which is written in green next to where it says “Get TRIPLE Cash Back for 3 Days Only.”
While you’re on Ebates’ site, note that the rare offer for up to 10 percent cash back at Walmart also is still available.
Using cash-back portals
Ebates is what’s known as a cash-back portal. That means that when you shop online by going through Ebates’ website — or its app or browser extension — you earn cash rebates. This free money is commonly called “cash back.”
To earn cash back, simply visit Ebates’ website and select the retailer where you want to shop. From there, you will be redirected to the retailer’s website. Alternatively, you can use Ebates’ browser extension or mobile app.
Cash-back portals receive a commission from retailers for referring online shoppers to those retailers’ websites. Then, the portals share that commission with shoppers. So, your cash back is your share of that commission.
To get started with Ebates or any other cash-back portal, just sign up for an account. Signing up for and using Ebates is free.
Other cash-back portals that also are free include:
Even if you already have an Ebates account, you might want to check out other portals, as some portals are known to offer more cash back than others at a given retailer. I use both Ebates and TopCashback, as I detail in “3 Websites That Pay You for Shopping.”
