Today, Apple provided a long-awaited update to the Mac mini desktop. The new base model Mac mini desktop is available in Space Gray and costs $779. It features an 8th-generation Intel Core i3 3.6GHz quad-core processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD, Intel UHD Graphics 630, 802.11ac wireless, four Thunderbolt 3 ports, two USB 3 ports, one HDMI 2.0 port, and Gigabit Ethernet (configurable to 10Gb). For $1,049, you'll bump to an 8th-gen Core i5 3GHz six-core processor and 256GB SSD. Both systems are available as configure-to-order with up to 64GB RAM and storage options up to 2TB SSD.

Apple is currently accepting preorders. Shipping will begin on November 6.
