If your family is screaming for ice cream, head over to Haagen-Dazs on Tuesday for a free single-scoop ice cream cone from 4-8 p.m. Find a location near you at the Haagen-Dazs website.

This year’s free cone day is being dedicated to the humble honey bee. Haagen-Dazs notes that bee populations have been falling at an alarming rate in recent years:

Not only do bees help pollinate over one-third of the world’s crops, they also help in the creation of one-third of our most beloved flavors like strawberry, rocky road, mango, and even our classic vanilla.

Haagen-Dazs notes that you can help out the honey bee by:

  • Planting native wildflowers, shrubs or trees
  • Protecting bee homes, such as untidy areas of gardens, tree stumps and open sandy grounds
