Tuesday is Amazon’s annual Prime Day sale. But you can also score big savings over at Ebates.

Monday was Flash Cash Back Day at Ebates. But the annual promotion has been extended for a second day, until 3 a.m. ET Wednesday. So if you shop between now and then, you’ll find some of the steepest cash-back percentages of the year at more than 200 online retailers.

As Ebates describes it:

“It’s prime time for saving big with Ebates’ Flash Cash Back Day. Get exclusive, one-day-only deals with Extra Cash Back at Ebates from top stores … You don’t want to miss this lightning-fast flash sale, at which you can score last-minute savings on everything you need this season from the brands you love.”

  • 1-800 Contacts: 11 percent cash back
  • Brahmin: 10.5 percent
  • Brookstone: 11 percent
  • Clinique: 12 percent

About Ebates and similar sites

Ebates is a cash-back portal. That means when you do your online shopping through that website, you earn rebates in the form of cash — commonly called “cash back.”

To earn cash back, simply visit Ebates’ website and select the retailer where you want to shop. From there, you will be redirected to the retailer’s website. Alternatively, you can use Ebates’ browser extension or mobile app.

Like other cash-back portals, Ebates receives a commission from retailers for referring online shoppers to those retailers’ websites. Then, Ebates shares that commission with shoppers. So your cash back is your share of that commission.

I pocketed $101.56 in cash back through Ebates last year.

To get started with Ebates or any other cash-back portal, just sign up for an account. Signing up for and using Ebates is free.

Other cash-back portals that are also free include:

Even if you already have an Ebates account, you might want to check out other portals, as some portals sometimes offer more cash back than others at a given retailer. I now use both Ebates and TopCashback.
