Even specific cuts of meat have their own food “holiday” these days: Sunday, Aug. 13, is National Filet Mignon Day. Following are some great deals for steak lovers:
Steak for $1
Morton’s The Steakhouse is “observing” the holiday on Monday, Aug. 14, by serving up its Petite Filet Mignon Sandwiches for $1 apiece. You can order up to 12 sandwiches at that price.
Just note the fine print says you must dine in — in the bar — to get the deal. The Petite Filet Mignon Sandwich is normally part of Morton’s lower-priced “Bar Bites” menu.
If you’re hungry for more than that, there’s also a “Summer State of Mind” offer available until Aug. 17. It involves a three-course meal for $40.
Morton’s operates restaurants in more than 20 states, in Washington, D.C., and abroad. The National Filet Mignon Day deal is only available at domestic locations, though.
Note that the fine print advises calling ahead both to confirm a location is participating in the $1 offer and to get any other relevant details.
If Morton’s is not in your area or your budget, you have other options for celebrating National Filet Mignon Day. Again, it’s always wise to call ahead to confirm your local restaurant is participating in a promotion.
Other chains serving up beefy promotions this weekend include:
- Black Angus Steakhouse: A spokesperson tells Money Talks News that this Western U.S. steakhouse chain’s menu will feature a filet mignon dinner for two from Friday through Sunday. It’s $58 and includes two 6-ounce filet mignons, two side dishes from the “Classic Sidekicks” menu section, Warm Molasses Bread and a bottle of Avalon California Cabernet Sauvignon. This offer is available at participating locations. The hitch is that you must provide your email address to join receive the coupon for this offer.
- Outback Steakhouse: Several current offers are available, although none is explicitly tied to National Filet Mignon Day,
