50. Fayetteville–Springdale–Rogers, Arkansas-Missouri

This region, tied for the 49th and 50th spots on the list, scored well in Community and Purpose. The area spans the Arkansas-Missouri border, but most of it is in northwest Arkansas, where the economy as been booming in recent years. Fayetteville is home to the University of Arkansas, the state’s largest university. Also in that area of the Arkansas, Bentonville is the headquarters of Walmart and Springdale is home to Tyson Foods, the world’s leading producer of poultry and beef.
