The 10 Best Retailers for Cyber Week Deals

Department stores are among the best places to shop for cyber savings this week, according to an analysis of the biggest retailers’ deals.

Belk, Bon-Ton, J.C. Penney and Macy’s, for example, made it into the top five in WalletHub’s ranking based on advertised price markdowns.

The No. 1 site to shop this week, though, is Groupon. The deals website’s “Cyber Monday Mania” Web page cites hundreds of “doorbusters” that are up to 80 percent off.

According to WalletHub, the average overall discount offered by the retailers it analyzed is 36.4 percent.

The 10 best-ranked retailers, with average overall discounts ranging from 61.8 percent to 40.2 percent, are:

  1. Groupon — 61.8 percent
  2. Belk — 58.6 percent
  3. Bon-Ton — 56 percent
  4. J.C. Penney — 52.6 percent
  5. Macy’s — 51.7 percent
  6. eBay — 50.5 percent
  7. Kohl’s — 50.2 percent
  8. Sears — 48.6 percent
  9. Amazon — 41.7 percent
  10. Kmart — 40.2 percent

WalletHub sifted through more than 3,000 Cyber Week deals from the 30 largest U.S. retailers, compared discounted prices to pre-discounted prices, and categorized offers based on product types.

The best sites to shop this week for specific product types include:

  • Apparel and accessories — eBay (70.65 percent off)
  • Computers and phones — J.C. Penney (46.82 percent)
  • Electronics — Groupon (48.84 percent)
  • Toys — Groupon (55.89 percent)
  • Appliances — J.C. Penney (51.51 percent)
  • Furniture — Bon-Ton (64.16 percent)
  • Jewelry — Sears (76.54 percent)
