Monday’s Money Deals: Electronics, Candles, and a Free Mug

Heading into Christmas week, the best way to save is with coupons – not that those are ever a bad idea. But there are a lot of deals on electronics and food out there this week. Here are the best we spotted, plus some other deals…

Vistaprint is once again offering holiday freebies. You can currently get business cards, customized mugs, notebooks, and photo books for free, although you pay for shipping. These freebies are usually first come, first served and limited in quantity, so check ASAP.

Catching a movie before the year’s out? You can get a free large Coke with a large popcorn at any AMC theater.

While we’re talking food, have you got Christmas dinner planned yet? If not, you can save up to $7 on an 8-pound Honey Baked Ham, and they have a few other coupons out, too.

If you’re eating out – hopefully not on Christmas! – you can knock 20 percent off your check at Denny’s with this discount. It expires Dec. 31.

Amazon.com has typically weird discounts available. This week, it’s 40 percent off sports decals for cars. See if they have your NFL, NCAA, or NASCAR favorites. Also at Amazon.com, air mattresses are up to 40 percent off.

Here’s an easy last-minute generic gift: candles. Yankee Candle has coupons deals good through Christmas Day: Buy 2 Get 2 Free, 25 percent off gift sets, $10 off $25 purchases, and $1 tarts and votive candles.

Lastly, here are a few deals in electronics. At Newegg, you can get a 19-inch Acer LCD monitor for a flat $100 – shipping is free. The retail price for that monitor is usually $30 or $40 higher.

Staples has some decent coupon codes: $10 off USB flash drives, $20 off GPS devices, digital frames and routers, and other deals. Some of these expire Wednesday, others by Christmas.

If you’re looking for a new laptop and know it’s not waiting under the tree, Best Buy has some good deals this week. Laptops from various brands are as low as $350 with free shipping to your local store or $15 to your house. Watch out for the refurbished Compaq they snuck in there – the rest are new products.

That’s all for this week; see you next time. Here’s hoping you get everything you wanted. Merry Christmas!

We welcome your opinions, but let’s keep it civil. Like many businesses, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
