A slew of companies still offer lifetime warranties on their products. Some pledge to give you a full lifetime warranty, no questions asked. You may not even have to offer proof of your original purchase.

Following is a list of retailers that promise to guarantee your purchase for its lifetime, if not forever.

Craftsman

Many “handy” types of people covet Craftsman tools, and for good reason. The company — owned by Stanley Black & Decker — offers a full lifetime warranty on three types of products, no proof of purchase required:

• Most hand tools
• Mechanics tools
• Non-electric automotive tools

Other Craftsman tools and products have more limited warranties.

Cutco

Cutco has been selling cutlery for more than 70 years and built its reputation on its Forever Guarantee. According to the company based in Olean, New York:

“If at any time you are not satisfied with the performance of your Cutco product we’ll make it right. Whether you made the initial purchase or you received Cutco as a gift, it’s our guarantee that your Cutco products will perform like new. Forever.”

If you damage Cutco cutlery through unconventional use, Cutco will replace it for half the current retail price, plus sales taxes.

Darn Tough

This Northfield, Vermont-based sock retailer offers a lifetime guarantee for its Darn Tough socks. According to the retailer:

“If these aren’t the longest lasting socks you’ve ever owned, you can return them to us for another pair. No receipt needed, just the pair in question.”

Davek New York

The upscale umbrella seller offers you a real port in the storm: an ironclad Unconditional Lifetime Guarantee. According to New York City-based Davek:

“All Davek umbrellas are covered under our famous Unconditional Lifetime Guarantee: If your umbrella should fail to function properly at any time for any reason whatsoever, we will gladly repair or replace it for free (except shipping). Forever. We want this to be the last umbrella you will ever need.”

Hammacher Schlemmer

Hammacher Schlemmer has been around since 1848, so it knows that keeping customers happy is a key to success over the long haul.

The company, whose corporate headquarters is based in Niles, Illinois,‎ offers the Hammacher Schlemmer Lifetime Guarantee:

“Items that we sell are guaranteed for their normal life under standard non-commercial use. Should any product fail to meet your expectations, we will replace it or refund the cost of the item less shipping and service fees. Returns older than one year will be credited in form of a gift certificate.”

JanSport

JanSport backpacks are ubiquitous, and that popularity likely is due in part to the company’s lifetime guarantee. According to the company based in Greenwood Village, Colorado:

“Trust is built over time, so for more than 50 years JanSport has designed packs that last, to go everywhere you go, see what you see, and carry what you need. We stand by the quality and durability of every pack we make, and since we’ve been doing that since 1967, that is a guarantee you can stand by.”

It’s worth noting that the limited lifetime warranty does not extend to all JanSport products, such as cooler bags, which get a five-year limited warranty. And covered products are only warranted against manufacturing defects in materials and original workmanship, except for certain exclusions.

Leupold

The company based in Beaverton, Oregon, makes optics for hunters and shooters — and it builds them to last. According to Leupold, these are the details of its lifetime warranty:

“Built for a lifetime of performance — if at any time your Leupold riflescope, mounts, red dot, binocular, or spotting scope doesn’t perform, we will repair or replace it for free — whether you’re the original owner or not. You don’t need proof of ownership or a warranty card, and there’s no time limit. “

Osprey

Osprey is another backpack maker offering a lifetime warranty — known as the All Mighty Guarantee. As the company based in Cortez, Colorado, says:

“Osprey will repair any damage or defect for any reason free of charge — whether it was purchased in 1974 or yesterday. If we are unable to perform a functional repair on your pack, we will happily replace it.”

Pampered Chef

Any Pampered Chef product you purchase that is marked with a letter “L” has a lifetime guarantee. The company — based in Addison, Illinois — says:

“This guarantee covers repair or replacement only. It covers defects in materials and workmanship. It does not cover commercial use, abuse, misuse, ordinary wear and tear or an act of God. Incidental or consequential damages are not recoverable.”

Other Pampered Chef products have more limited guarantees.

Red Oxx

The company based in Billings, Montana, makes travel bags and accessories that it covers with its no-questions-asked “No Bull” Lifetime Warranty. According to Red Oxx:

“Our products are guaranteed forever, be sure to include them in your will.”

Zippo

The world-famous lighter brand offers a lifetime warranty on its Windproof Lighter. As the company based in Bradford, Pennsylvania, says:

“Whether a Windproof Lighter is 5 years, 25 years, or 50 years old, it will serve as a dependable source of flame for years to come — we guarantee it!”

The guarantee does not cover the lighter’s finish, however.
