If you are stuck at home and running out of entertainment options, we have some good news: HBO Max launches today.
As we previously reported, the streaming service includes HBO’s movie and TV content, plus other programming.
Fortunately, you might not have to pay full price — $14.99 a month — for HBO Max. In fact, you might be able to get it for free or at a bargain price if you are a customer of one of the following companies.
AT&T
AT&T owns WarnerMedia, which includes the HBO brand. If you are an AT&T customer, you can get HBO Max for free or cheap. According to the company:
“Customers who subscribe to HBO through AT&T will be offered immediate access to HBO Max included in their service for no additional charge. In addition, customers on select AT&T wireless, video and internet plans will have HBO Max included.”
The details of who gets HBO Max free — and for how long — can be found at the AT&T website.
The company adds that “nearly all other AT&T customers” are eligible for special offers, including anywhere from one month to a year of gratis HBO Max.
Altice USA
All of Altice USA’s existing Optimum and Suddenlink customers who subscribe to HBO or HBO Now also get HBO Max for free. To access HBO Max, download the app or access it on a desktop computer by using your Altice One, Optimum or Suddenlink credentials to log in.
Altice’s other customers, and new customers, can purchase HBO Max directly from the company.
Verizon
Verizon’s existing Fios TV and Fios Internet customers who subscribe to HBO or HBO Now also get HBO Max at no extra cost. Use your Fios login credentials to access HBO Max via the app or a desktop.
Other Fios customers, and new customers, can buy HBO Max directly from the company.
Cox Communications
Cox Communications’ Contour customers who are existing HBO subscribers get HBO Max for free. Log into the HBO Max app or access the service via desktop and log in by using your Cox account credentials.
Other Cox customers, and new customers, will be able to purchase HBO Max directly from Cox.
