It has gotten more difficult to find an affordable home in recent years. However, it’s still possible to find reasonably priced property if you know where to look.

Recently, Realtor.com identified the top cities with the most homes for sale in the price range of $200,000 to $350,000. Its analysis was based on its own housing data for February.

Here are the top places where you are most likely to find a good price on a home.

10. Birmingham, Alabama

For the price range of $200,000 to $350,000:

• Change in home inventory versus one year prior: 39.1% increase

The city of Birmingham, Alabama, is the only place in the world where all the elements necessary to make iron — coal, iron ore and limestone — are found in the same place.

9. New Orleans

For the price range of $200,000 to $350,000:

• Change in home inventory versus one year prior: 25.4% increase

New Orleans is famous for jazz music. But in 1770, it also became the first city in the United States to host an opera performance.

8. Oklahoma City

For the price range of $200,000 to $350,000:

• Total number of homes listed for sale in February 2024: 1,429
• Change in home inventory versus one year prior: 32.3% increase

The first parking meter in the world appeared on the streets of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on July 16, 1935. Dubbed the Park-o-Meter, it required drivers to pay a nickel an hour to park.

7. Atlanta

For the price range of $200,000 to $350,000:

Atlanta is home to the world’s busiest airport — Hartsfield-Jackson International. The city is also the birthplace of Coca-Cola, and, not surprisingly, the restaurant that serves the most Coca-Cola by volume, The Varsity, also calls the city home.

For the price range of $200,000 to $350,000:

The city of Orlando is home to more than 100 lakes. One of them — Lake Eola — is actually a huge sinkhole that reaches a depth of 80 feet.

In the late 19th century, the cigar industry came to Tampa in a big way. At its peak, 500 million cigars were produced in this Florida city in a single year.
