Walmart’s New Streaming TV Devices Are the Cheapest Around

Walmart long has been known as the low-price leader among retailers. Now, it’s trying to claim that title in the world of streaming TV devices.

The mega-retailer has unveiled two streaming devices — a stick and a larger media player — that are among the cheapest available options of their type. Both devices are from Onn, which is Walmart’s own brand of electronics.

The Onn FHD Streaming Stick lets you watch digital channels in full high-definition resolution through your TV’s HDMI port. Its current retail price is $24.88.

Walmart’s Onn Android TV UHD Streaming Device lets you watch in 4K ultra high-definition resolution and retails for $29.88. The biggest difference between this device and the stick is that this device has full support for 4K.

Both devices support Dolby audio and offer access to more than 700,000 movies and shows in one place, Walmart says.

Both also come with remote control, although you have the option to control your device by voice if you connect it to your Google account. Walmart notes:

“Ask Google to control your TV with your voice, and easily cast your photos, videos and music with Chromecast built-in.”

CNET reports that Walmart’s new devices are among the best deals in the world of streaming:

“At $25 for a full-HD streaming stick and $30 for a 4K streamer, the devices are priced to compete with similar Chromecast, Fire TV and Roku devices. For instance, a Roku Premiere with 4K support will currently set you back $35 at Best Buy, while you’ll need to spend $50 for Google’s newest Chromecast streamer.”
