Now is one of the best times of the year to buy a new TV.
The two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl — which falls on Feb. 5 this year — bring the second-best TV discounts of the year, according to Consumer Reports. This period is second only to Black Friday.
Consumer Reports explains:
Before the big game, stores will be trying to clear out 2016 sets in anticipation of 2017 models that start arriving a month or two later. In our analysis of two years of pricing data, Super Bowl sales have pushed down prices by an average of 22 percent.
A separate analysis by BestBlackFriday.com found that some TVs are currently priced as low or lower than they were on Black Friday. These sale prices suit a variety of budgets, ranging from a few hundred dollars to well over $1,000.
