Clutter can be stressful and overwhelming, whether it’s in your home or on your phone or tablet. Consumer Reports has published a list of six tips to help you organize your digital life. Here are some of the highlights:
Dump unnecessary photos and videos
Take a few minutes to organize your gallery, deleting any unwanted photos and videos. If you do this periodically, your gallery won’t become unmanageable.
Clean up your inbox
A click of a button and you can be free from an endless barrage of emails. Simply hit the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of an unwanted email, and enjoy a less-crowded inbox.
Consumer Reports also recommends signing up for Unroll.me, which allows you to see a list of your subscription emails and instantly unsubscribe from any you’re no longer interested in.
Organize your apps
Delete any apps you no longer use. Unused and underused apps drain both space and battery life. Download a multipurpose app that can handle several tasks, like Springpad (for Android and iOS).
Consumer Reports said apps like Springpad are a “personal assistant in your pocket,” managing to-do lists, grocery lists and read-it-later lists.
Follow these tips and enjoy your new de-cluttered digital lifestyle.
