12 Chains With Food and Drink Deals for Cinco de Mayo

If you’re looking for food and drink deals, this Sunday — May 5 — is your day. That’s when restaurants will offer specials for Cinco de Mayo.

Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday — the name means “the fifth of May” in Spanish.

It started as a way to mark Mexico’s defeat of France at the Battle of Puebla in 1862, during the Franco-Mexican War. But north of the Mexican border, Cinco de Mayo has become a way to simply celebrate Mexican culture.

Each year, restaurants offer deals in honor of the holiday. Following are some chains serving up Cinco de Mayo specials. Just call ahead to confirm that the locations in your area are participating in these promotions.

1. Bahama Breeze Island Grille

Now through May 31, Bahama Breeze Island Grille is offering $5 Classic Margaritas and $10 Create Your Own Premium Tequila or Rum Flights, a spokesperson tells Money Talks News.

Note that the deal is not good on Mother’s Day, May 12. Note also that the offer ends at 9 p.m. in restaurants located in Ohio and Virginia, and that the Tequila and Rum Flight offer is not available in Georgia.

2. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. is offering $1 tacos and $4 Corona Extra bottles on Sunday.

3. California Pizza Kitchen

On Sunday, California Pizza Kitchen will serve $5 Fresh Agave Lime Margaritas at some locations, FSR Magazine reports.

4. Chevys Fresh Mex

From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Chevys Fresh Mex will offer “bottomless mimosas and marys.” A brunch special and margarita, beer and shot specials also will be available.

Now through Sunday, Chuy’s is offering drink and appetizer specials. The schedule for drink specials is as follows:

Cumberland Farms is offering a mobile coupon for $1 nachos, while supplies last, a spokesperson tells Money Talks News. The nachos typically cost $2.59. Text “CHOS” to 64827 on Saturday or Sunday to receive the mobile coupon, which you can redeem this weekend.

7. El Torito

El Torito will serve a “Bottomless Champagne Brunch” for six hours Sunday starting at 8 a.m., with a continuous stream of $5 margaritas, bloody marys and micheladas as well.

Beginning at 2 p.m., there will be margarita, beer and shot specials, as well as $2.50 steak, chicken and carnitas tacos.

Now through Sunday, Hungry Howie’s is offering a large one-topping pizza for $5.55, a spokesperson tells Money Talks News. The deal is valid online, by phone or in-store.
