If you’ve been a Money Talks reader for a while, you may have noticed a recent change on our website. Namely, the addition of short stories called “Quickies,” posted throughout the day. You’ll see them in the middle column of the home page, featuring topics on everything from Social Security tips to 10 Used Cars to Avoid and The Best Fast Food Restaurants. The idea is to keep the site updated throughout the day so whenever you show up, there will be something new to see.
When we set out to make this addition, we all agreed we needed to supplement the stories we put up every morning with breaking news we could post throughout the day. We also agreed it needed to be quick to read, interesting, fun, or useful.
What we couldn’t agree on, however, was what to call it.
VP Dan wants to call it “Briefly.” I kind of like the idea of “Consumer Quickies,” while our new managing editor Renee thinks “Water Cooler” is the way to go.
After failing to reach a consensus at our most recent weekly meeting, we came up with a solution: let you decide. After all, you’re going to (hopefully) be seeing it as often as we are.
As an incentive to participate, we’ll randomly draw a few names from those participating and send them the world-famous “Broke, Stupid and Lonely” T-shirt.
All you have to do is give us your honest opinion, either below this post, on our Facebook page, or privately through our contact form. Choose any of the following names, or supply your own. If we end up abandoning our ideas for yours, you automatically win a T-shirt.
So, which is better?
- Briefly
- Consumer Quickies
- Water Cooler
- ?
Tip: You might want to read a few of our short posts to get a feel for what they’re about before voting or submitting your idea.
