TripAdvisor released the results of its 2024 TripAdvisor Consumer Sentiment Survey, which garnered responses from more than 2,400 consumers across six countries and reviewed user search data on the site.
With that information, TripAdvisor was able to decipher the fastest-growing destinations amongst travelers living in the U.S. These areas, according to TripAdvisor, are seeing the most year-over-year growth in summer travel bookings. Let’s take a look at which domestic destinations are growing, then we’ll get into popular destinations overseas.
1. Yosemite National Park, California
Yosemite is one of America’s most popular national parks, with its breathtaking views drawing in millions of visitors every year.
There’s a 7-mile-wide canyon called The Valley with towering rock formations and it includes El Capitan, the tallest granite monolith in the world and a renowned rock climbing destination. Yosemite National Park’s Yosemite Falls is also the largest waterfall in North America. Peak visitation for the falls is in the spring, as the snow melts.
2. College Station, Texas
As the name implies, College Station is a college town, home to Texas A&M University. There are many gardens and nature-centric attractions here such as the Botanical Gardens (located on campus) and Lake Bryan, where locals go to enjoy kayaking, boating, fishing and wakeboarding. For those looking to stay indoors, there are a number of galleries and museums, including the Benz Gallery of Floral Art and the Museum of the American G.I.
3. Santa Rosa Beach, Florida
Santa Rosa Beach visitors can enjoy fresh Gulf seafood and the area’s breweries after a day at the beach. There are also three state parks (Grayton Beach State Park, Deer Lake State Park and Eden Gardens State Park) and the Point Washington State Forest. Perfect for those looking to mix their beach vacation with some hiking.
