USA TODAY Network / Reuters

Blind box squishy toys, rechargeable hand warmers and electronic balloon pumps are among products recalled for safety concerns.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission published 12 new product recalls Thursday, Oct. 1, covering household items and toys sold at retailers including Amazon, Target, Home Depot and Dollar Tree. The commission updates its recall list every Thursday. Here are some of this week’s larger recalls.

Squishy Dumpling Toys

Two brands of blind box squishy dumpling toys were recalled because water beads inside can expand beyond permitted limits and pose a choking hazard if swallowed. No injuries had been reported as of Oct. 1.

  • ABC Trading recalled 37,000 Squishy Dumpling Toys and Crazy Squib Ball Toys, sold at ABC Trading stores in Los Angeles and other stores nationwide from April through June 2026 for 41 cents to $1.25. The dumpling toys come in translucent colors with glitter and water beads and are packaged in a tan container resembling a bamboo steamer. Model number: 3655. The Crazy Squib Ball Toys also contain glitter and water beads; model number: 3984.
  • LLK Trading recalled 480 Mochi Malrang Mystery Dumpling Toys, sold at Easy Wholesale in San Jose, California, in July 2026 for about $10. The translucent red toys contain glitter and water beads and come in tan packaging resembling a bamboo steamer.

Stop using the recalled toys and contact the company for a full refund. Owners of ABC Trading’s toys should write “RECALLED” on the toy, photograph it and email the photo to [email protected]. Owners of LLK Trading toys should do the same and email [email protected].

Magnetic Toys Sold on Amazon

GBYMIUY recalled 10,075 Magnetic Stick Figure Toy Sets because they can release loose, high-powered magnets that pose an ingestion hazard. No related injuries had been reported as of Oct. 1. The toys were sold on Amazon from April through July 2026 for about $20.

The recalled sets contain 30 multicolored transparent and opaque human-shaped figures. Each figure measures 2.91 inches tall and 2.3 inches wide. The packaging bears the GBYMIUY name and model number X004TVHD2Z. Take the toys away from children and contact the company for a full refund. The company says to discard the toys and email a photo of them to [email protected].

Rechargeable Hand Warmers

Two types of rechargeable hand warmers were recalled over burn and fire hazards. No injuries had been reported as of Oct. 1.

  • Gobi Heat recalled 5,500 Rechargeable Hand Warmers, sold on its website from October 2024 through August 2026 for $20 to $40. Sold in pairs, the black and gray warmers can join magnetically. Model number UT3053 is printed on the underside.

The white and orange warmers are sold in pairs; model number H163650 is printed on the underside.

Stop using the warmers and contact the appropriate company for a refund. Gobi Heat customers can visit gobiheat.com/pages/handwarmer-recall for a claim number and instructions. HotHands customers can visit hothands.com/recall-notice-rechargeable for instructions and submit a photo through the claim website.

Dispose of both products according to local and state hazardous-waste rules. Lithium-ion batteries should not go in household trash, general recycling or retail drop-off boxes. Contact a local household hazardous-waste collection center for guidance.

Electronic Balloon Pump Sold at Dollar Tree

Dollar Tree recalled more than 360,000 electronic balloon pumps because they can overheat and cause burns. As of Oct. 1, the company had received three reports of overheating, including one report of flames outside the unit. No injuries had been reported.

The pink plastic pumps have a blue handle and two nozzles. Model number 406198 is on the silver rating label on the bottom of the pump and on the packaging. They were sold at Dollar Tree stores nationwide and online, including through DoorDash, from August 2025 through July 2026 for about $17.
