This post comes from partner site WhistleOut.com.

If you’re looking for a great deal on a new mobile plan, take a look at our top five picks for you. This month, we’ve decided to limit our selections to those costing no more than $40 per month. We hope to ensure that our selections are affordable for most of our readers, given the current climate.

We’ve also only picked carriers that allow new customers to bring their own phone when they sign up. Finally, except for one mobile provider on this list, we’ve highlighted prepaid providers — so signing up does not require a credit check.

Stay strong and stay connected!

Deal No. 1: Red Pocket Mobile 3GB starting at $9.50 per month

The plan: Get 3GB of high-speed data per month with this plan from Red Pocket Mobile. If you ever need more 4G data, you can always add more for a small fee. This plan also comes with unlimited nationwide talk and text with free calling to over 70 countries. Red Pocket lets you pick which of the four major carriers’ networks you want to be on, so be sure to check a carriers’ coverage map to help you choose the right one before you sign up.

The price: Pay just $9.50 for your first month of service. After that, you’ll pay only $19 per month for the same plan. Red Pocket will even give you a SIM card and your shipping for free.

Deal No. 2: Good2Go Mobile 6GB for $20 per month

The plan: Get 6GB per month for your first three months of service with Good2Go Mobile. When you run out of data, your data speeds will be reduced to 128Kbps. This plan also comes with unlimited nationwide talk and text. Good2Go Mobile operates on AT&T’s network, so be sure to check AT&T’s network map before you sign up to ensure that you’ll get excellent service in your area.

The price: Good2Go Mobile will double your data at no additional cost for your first three months of service. That means you’ll pay for 3GB of data each month, but you’ll get 6GB per month for your first three months. The price of this plan is usually $25 per month, but if you switch to AutoPay, you’ll get a $5 per month credit to your account. That means you’ll end up paying just $20 each month for this plan. Good2Go Mobile will even ship you a complimentary SIM card for free.

Deal No. 3: Sprint Wireless unlimited data for $35 per month

The plan: Switch to Sprint from another carrier to get unlimited 4G LTE data with this online exclusive. The plan also comes with free basic data and texting to over 200 destinations. You’ll also get unlimited nationwide talk and text. Check Sprint’s coverage map to ensure that you’ll get quality service before you make the switch.

The price: Pay just $35 per month for this plan after your $5 per month AutoPay discount. This offer is valid for new customers only, and if you bring your old number to Sprint, the carrier will also give you a $300 prepaid Mastercard. Unlike a lot of deals, once you sign up for this plan, you’ll lock in the price for the life of your line. This plan and the promotion are available for a limited time only.

Deal No. 4: Twigby 10GB starting at $26.25 per month

The plan: Get 10GB of high-speed data each month with this plan. If you run out of data, then you can get more for an additional fee. Ask for overage protection, so your speeds will be reduced to 2G (after you run out of data) until your next billing cycle. This plan also comes with unlimited talk and text to the U.S., Canada, Mexico and more. Since Twigby is on Sprint’s network, make sure to check Sprint’s coverage map to ensure that you’ll get quality mobile service before you sign up.

The price: Pay just $26.25 for 10GB of 4G LTE data for your first six months of service with Twigby. After those six months are up, your price will increase to $35 per month for the same 10GB of monthly data. That means you’re getting 25% off for half the year. On top of that, if you use our exclusive promo code WOSIMFREE at checkout, Twigby will give you a free SIM card, and the carrier will even ship it to you for free as well.

Deal No. 5: Visible unlimited data starting at $25

The plan: If you need more data, then Visible’s unlimited plan is unbeatable. It gives you unlimited 4G data, with unlimited hotspot data at 3G speeds, as well as unlimited nationwide talk and text. Visible is on Verizon’s robust network. Check out Verizon’s coverage map before you make the switch.

The price: Your first month of service is just $25, and then it’s $40 per month after that for a single line plan. All taxes and fees are included in the price of this plan. You can also get a discount for adding more lines to your account via Visible’s Party Pay, which lets everyone on the account handle their own monthly bill — the only thing you will share is the discount. If you have two lines on your account, then you’ll pay $35 per month. For three lines, you’ll pay just $30 per month, and for four lines, you’ll pay just $25 per month.
