Just as inflation appears to have cooled a bit, the price of certain supermarket staples is about to rise.

Three major corporations — which collectively own dozens of household brands — announced in July that a fresh round of price hikes is on the way.

Here are the companies and what we know about their pending price hikes at this point.

Hershey brands

Millions of chocolate lovers can expect their favorite treat to become more expensive soon.

Rising cocoa prices have caused the Hershey Co. to warn retailers that the candy maker’s prices will increase by a percentage in the “low double digits” — meaning by at least 10% — according to a recent report.

The company has not said when the price increases will go into effect.

Chocolate prices have marched steadily upward in recent years as cocoa has become more expensive due to a combination of bad weather and crop disease in Ghana and the Ivory Coast in West Africa.

While the Hershey Co. has not specified which of its products would see price hikes, its brands include:

  • Hershey’s Kisses
  • Kit Kat
  • Reese’s

Procter & Gamble brands

Trump administration tariffs will contribute to rising prices on about 25% of Procter & Gamble’s products, Chief Financial Officer Andre Schulten said on a July 29 earnings call.

Price increases on those items will be in the mid-single digits — meaning in the neighborhood of 5% — Schulten said. They will start in August.

P&G has not specified which products will be affected by the price hikes. The company owns dozens of brands that are household names, including:

  • Bounty
  • Cascade
  • Charmin
  • Crest
  • Dawn
  • Pantene
  • Tide

Lindt & Sprüngli brands

Like Hershey, Lindt & Sprüngli says an increase in cocoa prices will force the company to raise prices of its chocolate treats.

Lindt & Sprüngli hiked its prices by 15.8% in the first half of the year. On July 22, CEO Adalbert Lechner indicated that the company plans to raise prices again in 2026, although not by as much as in 2025.

The company’s brands include:

  • Lindt
  • Ghirardelli
  • Russell Stover
