Thanksgiving is fast approaching, and it’s never too early to start prepping your kitchen (or at least making a detailed shopping list).
If you’re an Aldi superfan like me, you probably head to the nearest store with just the basics in mind. But this year, let’s expand our horizons. Aldi has so much more to offer that it could be your one-stop shop for Turkey Day 2025.
Here are some must-haves to get you started. All prices are from my local Aldi store in Iowa and are current as of this writing.
1. Butterball turkey

The bird is the word, and Aldi is selling the Butterball turkey variety for 97 cents per pound. These frozen whole birds are marketed as minimally processed and naturally flavored with salt and spices. Select the size of turkey that works best for the number of guests you anticipate. (The Food Network suggests 1 to 1.5 pounds per carnivorous guest).
2. Barissimo coffee
Aldi’s Barissimo coffee brand is consistently one of the best bargains in the store. A 12-ounce bag costs only $6.69.
I’ve always thought Barissimo’s French Roast is comparable to Major Dickason’s Blend by Peet’s Coffee — strong, smooth and rich. At Target, a 10.5-ounce bag of Major Dickason’s costs $9.99 — and that’s a sale price.
Grab a bag of Barissimo (any roast will do). It’s the perfect complement to Thanksgiving dessert and ideal for out-of-town guests facing a long drive home.
3. Emporium Selection brie

The old adage is true: Cheese makes everything better. But instead of the standard cheese and crackers party platter, elevate your holiday menu by serving a rich, creamy brie.
An 8-ounce round of brie from Aldi’s Emporium Selection brand costs $3.99. Serve it with crusty bread, or try a brie appetizer recipe.
4. Chef’s Cupboard cornbread stuffing
Change things up this year. Southern-inspired cornbread stuffing or “dressing” is typically fluffier and more crumbly than its traditional counterpart. And with loads of cornbread dressing recipes available online, you just might inspire a new family tradition.
Aldi’s Chef’s Cupboard brand is offering 12-ounce bags of cornbread or herb stuffing mix for $2.19. Grab a few bags and save some for the winter holidays.
5. Pillsbury themed cookie dough

This one’s for the kids (and grown-ups who don’t like pumpkin pie). This box of Pillsbury’s ready-to-bake pre-cut cookie dough makes 20 sugar cookies with a turkey design on them. The cookies will delight the kiddos, and the $3.86 price will delight you.
6. California Heritage pinot noir
Need a host gift? Pick up a bottle of pinot from Aldi’s California Heritage brand. This smooth, berry-forward wine pairs perfectly with turkey, and a 25-ounce bottle costs only $4.95 (and for that, I am truly thankful).
For hosts who are part of the sober-curious movement, here’s a great alternative: Delice Dark Chocolate Truffles by Aldi’s Moser Roth brand. A 5-ounce bag costs $3.29.
