Enrolling in the TSA Precheck program will be a little easier this summer.
The office supplies retailer Staples will open 50 enrollment centers in its stores soon, AARP reports.
The first of these centers will open in Staples stores located in cities like:
- Los Angeles
- New York
Folks who wish to enroll in TSA Precheck at a Staples store will first need to set up an appointment through IdentoGO’s website. The security company IDEMIA runs IdentoGO, which serves as the TSA Precheck enrollment centers.
What is TSA Precheck?
TSA Precheck is the U.S. Transportation Security Administration’s expedited screening program for air travelers.
Members can speed through security checkpoints at more than 200 airports — we cite TSA Precheck in “The 4 Ways to Get Cleared Through Airport Security and Across Borders Fastest.”
According to the latest monthly TSA data, 92 percent of Precheck members wait five minutes or less.
Enrolling in the TSA Precheck program involves filling out an application, undergoing a background check and getting fingerprinted. Program membership costs $85 and is good for five years.
