20 Flexible Jobs That Pay Well and Are in Demand

Does a job with lots of openings, an hourly rate of at least $20, high potential for growth and flexible work options sound too good to be true? It’s not.

In fact, job search site FlexJobs highlights 20 such careers in its list of “High-Potential Flexible Jobs for 2017.”

FlexJobs says it identified the 20 jobs after analyzing Cheat Sheet’s “10 Jobs That Will Be Hiring Like Crazy in 2017,” and Fast Company’s “Jobs With the Most Potential in 2017.” FlexJobs says:

If you’re looking for a change, and you need more work flexibility in your life, these jobs are in high demand AND they regularly offer flexible work options.

The jobs had to meet the following to be included on FlexJobs’ list:

  • Faster-than-average growth rates between 2012 and 2016
  • Many job openings
  • Predicted faster-than-average growth rates through 2024
  • Pay of at least $20 an hour

FlexJobs says these are the top 20 high-potential flex jobs for 2017:

  1. Account executive
  2. Account manager
  3. Business development
  4. Business process analyst
  5. Client services coordinator
  6. Data scientist
  7. Financial analyst
  8. Front-end developer
  9. Genetic counselor
  10. Information security analyst/manager
  11. Medical director
  12. Nurse — ICU
  13. Nurse practitioner
  14. Occupational therapy assistant
  15. Office manager
  16. Operations analyst
  17. Operations manager
  18. Physical therapy assistant
