As the cost of groceries soars, everyone is looking for ways to trim ever-expanding food bills. Now, Amazon wants to help by offering a slew of digital rebates.

The online retail giant recently introduced Alexa Shopping List Savings, which lets those who use the digital assistant apply rebate offers in the Alexa app to goods that they have added to their shopping list.

The cash shoppers earn back by using these offers is applied to a digital Amazon gift card.

Anyone in the U.S. who uses the shopping list feature on Alexa’s app and then shops at a favorite grocery store is eligible for the savings. You simply:

  • Look for eligible rebate offers before you shop and add them to your shopping list.
  • Shop for these same offers at your “go-to grocery store.”
  • Scan both your receipt and the product barcodes. This lets you redeem offers. Amazon says you must scan the entire receipt, top to bottom, and encourages you to place the paper on a dark background and take up to five photos if necessary.
  • Earn money back and “get paid” on your Amazon gift card. It may take up to one week for the money to appear on the card.

Amazon says you can use the feature “at any store where you can get an itemized receipt.” For more on the program’s terms and conditions, check out the Alexa Shopping List Savings webpage.
