New Amazon Section Boasts ‘Crazy Low Prices’ — But There’s a Catch

Amazon’s latest feature is just in time to accommodate holiday gift shopping on a tight budget.

The online retail giant has added a new section to its shopping app and mobile website — called Amazon Haul — which offers what Amazon describes as “crazy low prices” to U.S. shoppers.

Amazon Haul includes products in various categories — such as fashion, home, lifestyle and electronics — that all cost $20 or less. Most are $10 or less.

Plus, the more you buy, the more you save: You get an extra 5% off Amazon Haul orders of $50 to $74.99, or an extra $10 off orders of $75 or more.

More good news:

  • Buying from Amazon Haul is backed by Amazon’s A-to-z Guarantee.
  • Amazon says it screens Haul sellers to confirm their products are safe and authentic.

There are some catches to the “crazy low prices,” though. Here are some ways in which shopping from Amazon Haul is different than your typical Amazon shopping:

  • Amazon Haul orders are not Prime-eligible. This means your Haul order must total at least $25 to avoid the $3.99 shipping fee for smaller Haul orders.
  • It takes longer to receive Haul purchases — one to two weeks, Amazon says, although shipping times may vary by delivery location.
  • The return window is shorter. You get 15 days, rather than Amazon’s default of 30 days, to return Haul purchases.
  • The cheapest items can’t be returned at all. Amazon Haul products that cost $3 or less are nonrefundable and nonreturnable.

To shop from Amazon Haul, open Amazon’s app or visit Amazon's website on a mobile device and search for “haul.”
