Welcome to “Ask Stacy,” a new video feature on Money Talks News. Most week days, I’m going to answer a money question sent in by a reader or viewer. (Learn how to send in a question of your own below.)

Our inaugural question is about bitcoin.

Bitcoin, a digital medium of exchange, is one of the more popular in a category of investment known as cryptocurrencies; you can read more about them in “Bitcoin for Dummies.”

Bitcoin has been making headlines in recent weeks because its price rise has been meteoric. It’s rocketed from around $700 in January to as high as $20,000 in less than a year.

Too late to get in or time to jump on the bandwagon? Here’s what I think.

Got a question you’d like answered?

You can ask a question simply by hitting “reply” to our email newsletter. If you’re not subscribed, fix that right now by clicking here.

The questions I’m likeliest to answer are those that will interest other readers. In other words, don’t ask for super-specific advice that applies only to you. And if I don’t get to your question, promise not to hate me. I do my best, but I get a lot more questions than I have time to answer.
