Earlier this summer, Virgin Mobile rolled out a plan that offered one year of service for $1 to customers who bought an iPhone from the company.
Now, Virgin Mobile is sweetening the deal by offering it to customers who bring their own iPhone and transfer the number to the company’s network.
Just transfer your number to the “Inner Circle” plan, and you’ll get 12 months of unlimited talk, text and high-speed data for a buck. The plan supports most iPhone 5s and higher models. According to Virgin Mobile:
To confirm an iPhone’s eligibility and order a Virgin Mobile Inner Circle SIM2 Card Kit, visit VirginMobileUSA.com. Once an iPhone is verified as compatible with our nationwide network, the SIM card will be shipped with simple instructions to install and activate it. For a limited time, SIM cards can be ordered for free, however, after Friday, Sept. 29, a Virgin Mobile Inner Circle SIM Card Kit will cost $25.
After the first year, you’ll pay $50 per month for the Inner Circle service. According to Virgin Mobile, the deal essentially boils down to $601 for two years of service — compared with anywhere from $1,440 to $1,800 for similar service from competitors.
In addition, as an Inner Circle member, you’ll get an additional six months of service for just $1 each time you upgrade to a new iPhone.
