In an era of rising prices, stumbling upon a bargain or two is an unexpected but welcome treat. Recently, Costco members have seen prices fall on at least a half-dozen products.
Despite concerns about a new wave of rising prices tied to U.S. tariff policies, Costco has lowered its prices on some of its store-brand Kirkland Signature products.
During the company’s latest quarterly earnings call, CEO Ron Vachris noted that during the third quarter of 2024, sales of Kirkland Signature items exceeded Costco’s overall sales growth.
Vachris went on to say:
“We continue to move more Kirkland Signature product sourcing into the countries or regions the items are sold, and this is helping us to lower costs and mitigate some of the potential impacts of tariffs. We are remaining agile as the situation with tariffs evolves.”
Kirkland Signature products tend to be wildly popular with Costco shoppers. As we explained in “8 Surprising Facts About Costco’s Kirkland Signature Brand,” more than 300 Kirkland Signature products generated total sales of $56 billion in 2023.
