Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA US, LLC) has recalled nearly 13,000 Ram pickup trucks due to a software error that may cause a driver to lose control of their vehicle.

The automaker announced a recall for 12,736 2023-2025 Ram 2500 pickup trucks because a powertrain control module software error may cause the vehicle to accelerate beyond the tire speed rating, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recall report. This can result in a loss of vehicle control. Chrysler estimates that the defect affects 100% of the recalled vehicles.

FCA US opened an investigation into some of the outlined pickup trucks in March and submitted the recall on May 7, the report states.
