FCA US Recalls Over 12K Ram Vehicles. See Affected Models

USA TODAY Network / Reuters

FCA US is recalling more than 12,000 Ram trucks due to issues with the vehicles’ headlamp assemblies, which could increase the risk of crashes.

The headlamps “may experience intermittent parking lamps and daytime running lights illumination,” according to the July 1 recall report published on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website. The Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard requires parking lamps and daytime running lights to be steady burning when activated.

Parking lamps and daytime running lights that turn off or flicker unintentionally can increase the likelihood of a crash, according to the recall report.

The 12,592 affected 2026 Ram 1500 vehicles were produced between Oct. 29 and Feb 16.

FCA US said there have been no reported injuries or crashes related to the issue as of July 1, though the recall notice notes some of the lamps may have degraded function.

The manufacturer opened an investigation into the issue in April and used supplier and vehicle production records to determine which vehicles were affected, according to the report.

Remedy

FCA US will replace the headlamp assembly on the affected vehicles with one with fully connected terminals, if necessary.

Owners will be notified through July 30, according to the recall notice.
