Get Free Food, Drink Deals on April Fools’ Day That Are No Joke

USA TODAY Network / Reuters

If the start of April has you feeling a bit hungry, don’t be foolish and pay full price for treats – especially when so many restaurant chains are offering exclusive deals for April Fools’ Day.

Wednesday, April 1, marks the infamous April Fools’ Day, when everyone wants to try to trick you, whether it’s with a whoopee cushion hidden under your seat, an Oreo with toothpaste instead of cream, or whatever creative trick people are planning.

Even popular brands get in on the fun and try to trick people into thinking they’re releasing some bizarre product or creating a new event just in time for April 1.

But if you’re tired of the pranks and ready for a snack, here are April Fools’ Day freebies and deals across the country.

Dunkin’

Dunkin’ has announced it will be giving away 1,000,001 free coffees on April 1, according to an online news release. You must be a Rewards member and enter the code StillNotAJoke in the app to receive the offer. You can get your free hot or iced coffee in any size: small, medium, or large.

Once the code is added, it’s valid for 7 days. You also cannot get cold brew or an extra-large hot coffee with the deal. There is a limit of one per customer.

Last year on April Fools’ Day, Dunkin’ also gave away 1 million free hot or iced coffees to Rewards members.

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse

Not joking around, BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse is offering up a Sweet Heat Pepperoni Pizookie for dine-in orders on April 1 only. The savory-sweet treat is a mix of the restaurant chain’s Pizookie and deep-dish pizza.

The Sweet Heat Pepperoni Pizookie is made with a Chocolate Chunk Pizookie base, two scoops of vanilla bean ice cream, pepperoni, and a drizzle of Mike’s Hot Honey. The Pizookie is $4.01.

Checkers & Rally’s

Checkers & Rally’s is offering its Big Buford burger for $3 on April 1-2, according to a news release. The Big Buford is made with two beef hamburger patties, two slices of American cheese, iceberg lettuce, tomato, red onion, dill pickles, ketchup, mustard, and mayo, all on a toasted bun.

Hooter’s

April Fools’ Day is a big holiday for Hooter’s, as it’s also the chain’s anniversary. (Hooter’s was established on April 1, 1983.) This year, Hooter’s is offering 10 wings for $4 on April 1, according to a news release. The official Instagram account for the restaurant chain states that the offer is dine-in only.

Shipley Donuts

Shipley Donuts is offering a free four-pack of kolaches for loyalty members on April 1, according to a news release and a post on their official Facebook page.

Krispy Kreme

Though not an April Fools’ Day treat specifically, Krispy Kreme is introducing a new doughnut just in time for the “holiday.” To celebrate NASA’s planned launch of Artemis II, Krispy Kreme is releasing an Artemis II Doughnut, available through April 2, according to a news release.

The Original Glazed doughnut is dipped in blue vanilla icing, sprinkled with Oreo crunch and white nonpareils. The doughnut is finished with a cookies-and-creme-flavored buttercream dollop and a red chevron nod to the NASA logo.

The Artemis II Doughnut is available in-store, for pickup and delivery via the Krispy Kreme website and mobile app.

Qdoba

Coinciding with the next full moon on April 1, Qdoba is offering its Signature 3-Cheese Queso or Queso Diablo Chips for free with a purchase of an entree to rewards members, according to a news release. Orders must be placed on the Qdoba website or mobile app.

After April 1, the free queso will be available on the following dates of full moons: May 1, May 31, June 29, July 29, Aug. 28, Sept. 26, Oct. 26, Nov. 24, and Dec. 23.
